Everything Has An Expiration Date
I grew up protected and loved unconditionally by my parents. It wasn’t until I stepped outside of that protection that I would experience some of life’s greatest heartaches. I married at the age of 15 and had three of my four children back to back. Before the age of 18, I was faced with the unimaginable and although much of the next year or so would be spent not knowing what was next, I had to hold on tight to my roots, which were my faith and the support of my family.
Along the way, I faced many challenges, including incarceration. By the age of 22, I was divorced and remarried to my second husband whom I had my fourth child. Life seemed to repeat unspoken patterns of unfaithfulness that I settled to accept until wisdom and love were spoken into me and I then decided to step out on my own and create for myself what I thought I could never obtain alone.
But by the grace of God, I didn't become a statistic. I don't look like what I've been through, and that's a testament to His mercy and my perseverance. I have paid a price to tell my story. I had to gain the courage and bravery to step past the worry, judgment, and thoughts of others about my past.
I have walked through the fire and now I am reaching back to help other women and men be able to see through the smoke of their own past. I encourage everyone to take hold of the pen in their hands and rewrite their story- because no matter what you've been through, you have the power to change your future.
Success
At fifteen, I was a high school dropout. Today, I'm a business graduate with a Master's degree, leading in the medical field and impacting Dallas-Fort Worth. My journey from doubt to determination taught me the power of resilience.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, I use my voice and skills to bridge gaps, create solutions, and lead purposefully. Whether it's planning or innovating in healthcare, my passion is helping others thrive- because if I could rewrite my story, so can you.
Family
For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking through life with my loving husband, Derrick, by my side. Together, we’ve built a family that fills my heart in ways I never imagined possible. We’re the proud parents of six beautiful children, and being a GiGi to my grandchildren is one of the greatest joys of my life. With each new addition to our family, my heart grows a little fuller, and they remain the foundation of everything I do.
Smokey D’z BBQ & Catering in Duncanville, TX, is our family’s labor of love. For six years, it’s been more than just a business—it’s a place where we connect with our community, share our passion, and create memories with those we serve. Every plate we serve comes with a piece of our story, and through it, we’ve been able to touch so many lives.
One of the most meaningful parts of my journey is my involvement with the Special Olympics, inspired by my precious daughter, who has Cerebral Palsy. She reminds me every day of the strength, resilience, and joy that can be found in the most challenging of circumstances. Through her, I’ve discovered a deeper purpose in serving and supporting others who face their own battles.
At the heart of it all, Derrick and I believe in giving back to the community that has supported us from the beginning. Whether it’s through our business or our personal efforts, we’re committed to lifting others up, sharing what we’ve learned, and creating a legacy of love, strength, and service.

How Can I Be Of Service?
I'm here to help women see the strength they already have within, guiding them to overcome adversity and step into the powerful version of themselves that's been waiting all along.
I believe that no matter where you come from or what you've been through, you have the power to rewrite your story. I've made it my purpose to walk alongside single moms, survivors of domestic abuse, and women who've faced tough beginnings, helping them reclaim their power and create a life filled with love and purpose.
